The tradition of the NFL (National Football League) final is more than 50 years old, as the idea of crowning the champions of the season was born in 1966, with the creation of Lamar Hunt, owner of the AFL Kansas City Chief.
The first championship was officially played in 1920, still under the name American Professional Football Association (APFA). Some time later, the name was changed to National Football League (NFL).
However, this was not the only league of this sport in the past, because in 1959 a group of American businessmen who were fans of American football invested in a new league, the American Football League (AFL).
But these matches have not been played separately for many years, as the two have come together to form just one major league. The reason was that there was a need to form a highly competitive league, because the best players were distributed among them.
The first special final between the two began on the agenda in 1966, and the first Super Bowl took place in 1967, with Green Bay Packers, coached by Vince Lombardi, who won the Kansas City Chiefs, becoming the first major Super Bowl champion.
This model was consolidated in 1970, when the AFL was finally incorporated into the NFL, creating a single championship to be played annually. And the Super Bowl kept doing the fan party, who were looking forward to the grand finale. Thus, the event became one of the most important in the United States.
Event structure and economy movement
The structure is, without doubt, grandiose. It is an event that attracts millions of spectators, breaking records for television audiences in the country.
It is held each time in a different stadium, which is set at the beginning of the season. Generally, it is the largest stadium that becomes the venue for the final. In addition, there is the presence of international artists to sing the national anthem at the beginning, while at the interval several world-famous artists make a performance of, on average, 20 minutes (Halftime Show).
Until the end of the 80's, it was the American college bands that did the shows during the breaks. Until 1993, the producers of the event bet high and brought the king of Pop, none other than Michael Jackson, raising the level considerably.
From then on, artists such as Rolling Stones, U2, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Kate Perry are some of those who already had the party in the interval of the event.
